About the Indian Lemongrass Seed Pack
Indian Lemongrass | Cymbopogon citratus | Ecologically grown | Annual | Open Pollinated | Heirloom
Easy to grow and highly productive. Lemongrass seeds are naturally low in germination because of imperfect pollination. Typical germination rates are 30-40%. Lemongrass oil in leaves is used for flavouring in edible products.
Planting tip: Soaking in warm water for up to 72H is recommended for improved germination. Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. It can be direct sown outside when all danger of frost has passed.
Harvesting tip: Must be handled gently as leave bruise easily or turn black. Harvest mid to late afternoon, after morning dew has dried off for strongest oil content.
Storage tip: Store in plastic bag for up to 3-4 days
